Cool Back Fence

This is our Cool back fence... This is actually the picture that I was going to post yesterday. I have fiddled with it a bit hence the strong contrast and graininess. We found an old laser printer beside the road ages ago and the boys liberated these fans from it. I found this one dangling from the fence along with and old shower rose that was in the shed. Well had some interest in buying the Morris and true to form the bloody thing has broken down! Bugger! Gave up in frustration and started painting the verandah at the front of the house instead... at least i have something to show for the afternoon. Went to Sala Thai to celebrate the end of the School holidays.

Weirdness Abounds...

I have had a weird day... My stars must be WRONG if I believed in that sort of thing. Anyway any attempt to put a picture up seems fraught so it isn't going to happen. The post on Australia Day also went AWOL which is annoying as I typed quite a lot. The Morris seems to not want to be sold and is channeling others to abuse me! Did, however bottle a beer so now the wait till I can drink it begins... I'm going to bed under the hope that tomorrow will be better...

The Grass Tree that Ate my Golf Ball

We all went and played Golf one afternoon at the somewhat rustic Augusta Golf Course. It actually is in excellent condition compared with last time I played there (something like 1980). Really only Declan played as we only had short clubs but it was a nice walk... 

An Interesting Day Out...

One of the vists we made last week while were in Augusta was to the Hamelin Bay Vineyard. It is very nice, the grounds are very pretty, the cafe there is good, the wines are nice and there is croquet for the children. On the day we were there there was also entertainment in the shape of a courier leaving the handbrake off and his van roaring off down the hill through the vines! The boys were quite flabagasted by the entire thing! Luckily the wire holding up the vines got tangled around the wheel of the van and not too much damage was done. Only Merlot (my least favoruite wine) vines got flattened... 

Back from Holiday...

Back from holiday in Augusta which was very nice. We camped for seven nights so feeling a bit weatherbeaten but certainly relaxed and had fun!

Telč

Still playing around with the mosaicing software. This is a bit of a mess I admit but it is a kinda cool spot. It is in Southern Bohemia and is called Telč. A friend from WAIT bought us some lovely crystal Whisky glasses in a shop that is pretty much in the center of the shot. Ben dropped one the other day (so it was about 11 years old) and it did break with a most amazing noise. The others are all well though and look as good as new though they have had constant use. There is a web cam there that you can see here. It seems to be snowing... how odd it is really quite hot here! I even looked on Google Earth and sort of found it, type in 49.1825,15.4647 and you are pretty much in the square. The satellite pictures over this are are fairly poor though. By comparison with the ones in Fremantle are much higher resolution (actually I suspect the Perth Metropolitan ones are ariel photographs). I might try and put this one on Flicka and see if it is any bigger...

The Hordes are Heading East...

Well todays photo has absolutly nothing to do with what is going on in our life at the moment! Two sets of friends are moving East at the moment which is a bit sad. Stewart is only going for a year or so and Gregg I think will be gone for good. Stewart had a party last night, which was great but always makes us think that our house look like a complete shack... It really is brilliantly done. I took my camera but forgot to take any photographs at all... too many Margaritas!

Amplifier comes to life...

I really didn't mean it to be such a gap between posts. Where does the time go? Well a little bit of it was building a bit more of the Valve amplifier. This is the back and top of it (it is actually sitting on the front). The big holes will have the valves sticking out soon, well hopefully! What else has been happening? Started back at work, had a late night talking with our old neighbour about stuff, been trying to finish off the laundry (new lights, cornicing, shelves, freezer, toilet removed, new foor, painting... the usual) and all manner of other stuff... 

Making Waves

Happy New Year!!! Hope that everybody had a great new year. We had a quiet but fun one that started at Point Walter with a glass of Champagne with friends then moved home with Pizza and a responsbible amount of beer and wine. We finished the evening off watching Myth Busters (which probably wasn't Rose's first choice) but the kids all enjoyed it... So hopefully you will all need a Grinectomy in 2006!
