Badgey

This is actually a few weeks old now and is from our camping trip to Bagingarra. I am not sure if we will go back again as the Kangaroo Ticks put Rose off a bit... But is was very beautiful and the skies were so clear...

Power Station

This is South Fremantle Power Station! I'm not sure how long it has been decomissioned for but I don't ever remember it being operational. Ben had gone off with his friend Owen to AQWA so Rose, Declan and I took the carccas for a walk along the beach. There has been much discussion of what is going to happen to this building and currently it does look very much like something from a DrWho episode. I suspect though, as I said to Declan, when he is walking along this bit of beach with his kids you will be able to go in for a Cupaccio and Baklava and the upper parts will be units that cost $10M or so... actually it may only be next year... Posted by Picasa

Feeling a bit Crispy...

Well another busy weekend. Declan had more Cub stuff. I managed to find the problem with the spa (it was slow leaking away...) and then pulled quite a few sheets off the roof in an attempt to try and stop the rats from getting into the roof space. They come to eat the Olives off the tree and then try and find somewhere to squirrel them away for a rainy day. I suppose the nice warm ceiling of the house looks ideal! Anyway I think I have improved the situation and found a great granparent in the process... actually really didn't smell much! A couple of summers against the tin at over 45 degrees probably baked it well enough... We also managed to get the front door to close properly... for a long time it has always been a bit of a nightmare to close. The boys also had a lovely birthday party for an old (well young really at 6) Beehiver at a park in Mosman Park. On the way home we dropped in to see an exhibition by some friends father at the Gallows, also very convieniently, in Mosman Park.

Camera Man

While Ben was at a Birthday Party at the local park Declan & I took the Fetid Carcass for a walk and we also took some photographs. Amusingly there was quite a crowd of unrelated people up there all with cameras all taking pictures of sunset and stuff... Posted by Picasa

HDR

Damn -- i have typed this all in once already but here goes once again... This is the picture looking the other way from the beehive and is looking across the river to Mosman Park. This pitcture is generated from the composite of 3 different pictures with different exposures and eventual outcome is this. It is quite a neat piece of software which works well in the hands of people that know what they are doing with it! The best examples that i have seen of it are on Chromasia's site and this fantastic one on Flicka...

Beez

Took the Ladz out after school for some "fun" at the bank and the post office -- as compensation we went down to the river for a bit of a walk and some fresh air. While wandering around we encountered this amazing bee hive that was on a small bush! How the bush hadn't collapsed under the weight defies some the basic tennets of physics but there you go...
