Can we Fix It?

Again raiding the back catalog for stuff... I was finding intersting bits out of this Video when Ben came to help. He was having so much fun! I kept finding bits of the Video player for months afterwards. The person who had put it out for the verge rubbish collection probably didn't know how much fun they could have had!

Feeding Time

This is about the 7th or 8th photograph that my digital camera took some 3 1/2 years ago. I always thought that it was a rather cute picture of Ben and Dad feeding the Magpies. It was extremely hot -- well into the 40's and the magpies were demanding that mum and dad turned on the pump so they could cool down! 

Valve Computer

Whilst I admit to a lot of totally pointless projects this is probably one that I will never attempt! This is one of the first electronic computers ever built and is on display at the Science Museum in London. I thought that it was pretty cool -- the boys we vaguely interested. The photo isn't too good as there was so much reflection of the glass in front of it. 

Snowing?

It looks like it is snowing in the back garden at the moment. These are all the small flowers that are falling off the Olive tree. It is all a bit of a worry as each of the flowers could become a olive so come March we could be in for some sleepless nights! Went to the Work Ball last night which was in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Foundation Ball. Feeling a bit wearey to-day... 

Geek Clock

This is the start of Project 6,783,641... I needed a crystal for project 5,138,371 and the best place is from a CD drive and so i pulled a very ancient SCSI drive to pieces and lo found the crystal i was seeking... I was about to lob the remaining carccass of the drive into the bin when i thought that it would make a cool clock! So there you go... this is the optical assembly that held the laser and the detetector and i have replaced the laser with a three colour LED (the four little wires top right) so i will keep you posted on how we go! 

Sensitive Skin

It isn't often that I watch something on television that I remember much less that I enjoy! So you must watch a show that is currently on the ABC called Sensitive Skin. It is on pretty late but for some reason it sitcks in my mind for days after...

Dumbledore, K9 & Dr.Who

I found this rather amusing photo of the boys who were off to a fancy dress Birthday party. It was a rather long time ago as I think that Ben would do a better job of filling out the clothes now! K9 took us for ever to make...

End of an Era...

Well it was Matt's (chap on the left) last day and Tuesday was Ryan's last day. It is rather sad to see them go as work will seem a lot grayer without their amusing take on life. I am sure that they will have lots of fun and new experiences but will look back on the day with the big crane as one of the more interesting ones at Nix. Good luck Chapz! 

A snip at only $876,000

Actually that isn't true... When I was young we used to drive past this house and I think that there was somebody still living there in those days! When we drove past it recently it have been bulldozed and I suspect that it will have dozens of rather souless houses build on it instead.
